Dear Margo,

I just received your letter and I am delighted to hear that we are doing a book on Harry Bass.

When I first joined the Society in 1987, Harry Bass went out of his way to assure me that my relative ignorance and inexperience in the world of coins would not be a terminal embarrassment and encouraged me to keep my ears open and learn from my peers on the Council. Over the years that followed, his good humor and thoughtfulness added tremendously to the Council's meetings and on the telephone, in later years, he was still able to contribute his pleasant blend of wisdom, optimism and professionalism.
