Bass Foundations Expand Web Site

Coinciding with the opening of the new Harry W. Bass Jr. exhibit opening at the American Numismatic Association's Money Musewn, the Harry W. Bass Jr. Foundation has launched a new Web site.

The foundation, formed from the merger of the Harry Bass Research Foundation and the Harry Bass Foundation, has expanded the old Web site to produce www.harrybassfoundation.org.

The new site is intended to "acquaint visitors with the beauty, breadth and depth of the Bass exhibit," according to a foundation press release.

In addition to the Numismatic Indexes Project and Bass Auction Catalog listings found on the old site, the new site features color photographs and descriptions of the 533 pieces from Bass' collection displayed at the ANA.

The information included on gold coinage is extensive, with sections about die states and varieties. Information about silver coins is also in place.

The new Bass exhibit at the ANA will open July 14, in Colorado Springs, Colo., home to the Money Museum and ANA headquarters.
